How To Test IoT SIM?

I got an IoT Sim from a Purchase of sixfab gprs module but unfortunately the device i bought was 2G and the country that i am staying now have shut down their 2G network. As such, my question is, before thinking of buying a device for this Sim. How would I know my hologram iot sim is working? How could i test it? Can i use it to my phone for sending SMS just to test it? Can i use a pocket wifi with it?
