I built a Raspberry Pi powered touchscreen in my car, and use the Nova for internet access. I have my file system set to read-only so I can just pull the plug instead of shutting down the RPi. I was wondering if this would have any ill effect on the modem by just disconnecting the power without a shutdown? It seems like it is okay to pull it out of the USB port, which is why I figured it would be fine without a shutdown.
Should be fine although technically you are supposed to gracefully disconnect from the network (basically tell the cell tower you are disconnecting) vs just going silent. For personal use only powering on and off a few times a day you’ll probably be fine. As far as the nova hardware is concerned I don’t think that will be an issue at all.
