Can I use embedded SIM in Japan?

I’m thinking of populating SIM-ST-MFF2(embedded SIM) on my device. Digikey Japan doesn’t sell it, but Digikey USA does. Are there any reason that stops selling SIM-ST-MFF2 in Japan?

This should work, as it provides the same connectivity as our normal SIM cards.
