E303 doesn't work with Hologram SIM

I’m not able to use the Hauwei E303 (from the hologram store) with the Hologram SIM. The hologram SIM appears to work if I put it in my personal phone (says AT&T roaming, I didn’t attempt to log on), and the E303 will work if I put my personal phone’s SIM (AT&T) in it (again roaming, didn’t attempt data transfer).

But they refuse to work together. The hi-link interface will not load and the virtual ethernet interface appears and then disappears, sometimes more than once, eventually reverting to the CD-ROM mode and staying there. Tried on two different Ubuntu laptops and a Windows 10 laptop. Same symptoms on all.

I noticed I get a blinking blue LED indicator on the E303 when using my personal AT&T SIM, but when I use the Hologram SIM it only blinks green.

I’ve also tried putting the hologram SIM in an AT&T branded Huawei E368 (which is known to work with yet another AT&T SIM) to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this? What is the problem here?

Hi @luzader - Can you run “sudo dmesg | grep -i usb” with the USB plugged in with the Hologram SIM on your linux terminal and see if the USB modem is connecting and disconnecting on its own?
Unfortunately we’ve seen that this can be a symptom of a faulty SIM. We’ll get a tested, working replacement SIM shipped out to you. Sincerely apologize for the false start.

Zac - A new SIM is on its way. Does look like the USB modem is power cycling which we’ve seen can be caused by a bad SIM. Will DM you tracking info. Sorry for the false start.
-Ryan

With the new SIM the HiLink interface works but I can’t connect. Attached are screenshots of the status and configuration. I’ve tried rebooting both my laptop and the device, both through the hilink and by power cycling.

Zac - Can you try the profile with APN “apn.konekt.io”?

That seems to have fixed it. Thank you.
