I’m getting a lot of short sessions of no data. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this? Could this be because of a bad cellular signal?
When I see this and if I’m looking on the modem, it’s seeing the carrier’s base station but never able to complete a data registration (AT+CGREG is always a 0,2 (Registering) instead of a 0,1 (Home) or 0,5 (Roaming) response. If your device can report the LTE signal quality (RSRP, RSRQ, RSSNR) look at those. Often when this occurs the CSQ result is good (like -82 dBm), but the RSRQ is like -15 (db) which is terrible quality and the modem cannot complete the data registration.
Here’s a chart I have found useful for the general interpretation of those values.
